On the heels of President Trump releasing a budget that doubles down on efforts in Congress to block millions from care at Planned Parenthood, the Congressional Budget Office revealed that Paul Ryan's health care bill would leave 23 million uninsured.
The heartless attacks on health care for women and their families are coming from all corners of government. We have a real chance to stop one: the disastrous "health care" bill moving its way through Congress. Make your voice heard: Tell members of the House and Senate that you are angry, you are determined, and you will do what it takes to stop this bill.
Stop the health care repeal.
We are angry about the disastrous health care bill being forced through Congress. In fact, we are furious. We are disgusted by the effort to take health care away from people, and fearful of the impact this bill would have on our health, our lives, and our communities. This is a message to lawmakers who are dead set on repealing the Affordable Care Act and "defunding" Planned Parenthood health centers: We stand with our 23 million friends, family, and neighbors who will lose health care coverage because of you. We stand with patients -- while some lawmakers stand between patients and their doctors. And we stand with Planned Parenthood health centers and the communities they serve -- including people of color, LGBTQ folks, families with low incomes, and others. We stand with the Planned Parenthood patients who are targeted by this bill, patients who stand to lose access to birth control, cancer screenings, STI treatment, and other care at Planned Parenthood health centers. The rush to repeal the Affordable Care Act has created an extraordinarily unpopular bill that would lead us into a national health care disaster. And it's no wonder: It could cause thousands of deaths and untold suffering, and force impossibly high health care costs on those who can least afford it. It puts tax cuts for the wealthy ahead of care for the sick, and partisanship ahead of compassion.Stop it, now. While you still have the chance, and while we still have our health care.
