Speak Up: Bills Jeopardize Health of Women & Teens

Two weeks ago, we saw the single most damaging week for NC women we've seen in a long time. Three brand new bills were introduced to add to the growing list of regressive, anti-women's health legislation in the NC General Assembly.

Today, as opponents of safe and legal abortion gather in Raleigh, we ask you to recommit to help us push back against all of the regressive, anti-women’s health legislation. You know what's best for you and your family's health, but some North  Carolina legislators seem to think otherwise.

Extreme ideologues have already introduced, and will likely move, legislation that will jeopardize the health and safety of women and teens in our state in this legislative session.

SB 132, SB 308, SB 675, HB 694, HB 716, and HB 730 are all bills introduced in this legislative session that put the health and safety of women and teens in North Carolina at risk.

Tell our state's leaders that women don't need politicians to have a hand in making their most complex, private and personal decisions. Tell them that teens deserve medically accurate information and access to confidential, life-saving health care services.

Email political leaders right now and urge them to reject the extreme political agendas of lawmakers like Stam and Daniel!

Stand Against Extreme Political Agendas

Dear [Decision Maker],

There are many issues that our state needs to address to promote the health and well-being of women and their families, including improving the state's economy and creating jobs.

Every person should have the right to make decisions about their reproductive health without government intrusion. I am writing to urge you to reject the extreme agenda put forward by lawmakers like Senator Warren Daniel and Representative Paul Stam. Their single-minded efforts to restrict women's access to health care and to disregard the health of NC teenagers are out of step with North Carolina voters.

As the drivers of legislative priorities, we are counting on you to stand up to extreme political agendas like that of Senator Daniel and Representative Stam and to stand up for women and teens in our state.

I'm counting on you to make sure legislative priorities represent the real needs of North Carolinians, not the extreme agenda of any one member.
