Tell Congress: Stop the Nationwide Abortion Ban

A bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks nationwide just moved one step closer to becoming law. It's just the latest effort from Arizona Rep. Trent Franks to deny women access to safe and legal abortion — even if it endangers their health, even if the majority of Americans disagree, and even though a federal appeals court just overturned a similar ban in his home state.

Politics has no place in a woman's personal health care decisions. Politicians like Rep. Franks have no right to stand between women and their doctors. And Congress has no business taking deeply personal medical decisions out of a woman's hands to pursue a blatantly unconstitutional agenda.

Tell Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor to stop playing along with Rep. Franks' relentless attacks on women's health and rights — and tell your representative to reject this unconstitutional abortion ban:

Stop the nationwide abortion ban

Dear [Decision Makers],

Abortion is a deeply personal and often complex decision for a woman. Every woman has a unique set of circumstances. And every woman must be able to make the best decision for herself around her pregnancy, in consultation with her family, faith, doctor or health care provider.

But she shouldn't have to consult with Rep. Trent Franks, and he should NOT deny women the ability to make this decision.

A federal appeals court has already declared a similar 20-week ban unconstitutional. And Americans have said again and again: politicians have no business denying women the right to make their own medical decisions.

Stop the nationwide abortion ban.

Thank you,
