Tell Texas HHSC: Don't rip away Texans' health care

Texas is asking the Trump Administration to bend the rules in a backdoor attempt to "defund" Planned Parenthood and cut off women's access to health care. The state is asking for federal funding from the Trump administration for its ironically named "Healthy Texas Women" Program — a program that was created in order to block access to care at Planned Parenthood — with catastrophic health consequences for women's health.

Submit your public comment right now to HHS and demand that they stop trying to rip away health care from Texas women. If you can, personalize your letter in your own words — HHS will be reading what you have to say.

Don't rip away care from Texas women

Dear [Decision Maker],

Instead of making Texans stronger and healthier, the "Healthy Texas Women" Program takes health care away from the people who need it most.

By every measure, this program failed to fill the tremendous need for health care after Texas cut off access to Planned Parenthood health centers. Health centers have shuttered, and the state's own numbers show that nearly 30,000 fewer women have received birth control, cancer screenings, and other care as a result.

"Healthy Texas Women" is wrong for Texas, and completely unacceptable. I urge you to protect -- not rip away -- access to care.

Sincerely,
