Urge your State Senator to vote YES on Contraceptive ACCESS

PPAF_MA_Demands_Access

The State Senate is currently considering the Contraceptive ACCESS bill, a critical piece of legislation that would ensure that 1.4 million Massachusetts women have access to no copay birth control, regardless of President Trump’s latest attacks on birth control coverage.

The House of Representatives has already overwhelmingly passed the legislation, and we’re going to need your help to pressure the Senate to pass the bill.

Take a moment to urge your state senator to vote YES on ACCESS and share why protecting birth control access is important to you.

Please vote YES on Contraceptive ACCESS

Dear [Decision Maker],

I am writing to you today asking that you vote YES on An Act Relative to Advancing Contraceptive Coverage and Economic Security in Our State (S. 499).

The ACCESS bill ensures no copay birth control for 1.4 million Massachusetts women. A swift passage of this legislation is critical, especially since the Trump Administration slashed birth control coverage last month.

Birth control coverage affects all of us. Contraception is basic, preventive health care that everyone should be able to access, regardless of their economic status. Almost all women, 99% in fact, have used birth control at some point in their lives. Prohibitively expensive copays and out-of-pocket expenses can make an individual's ability to protect their health and plan their family impossible, especially for the most vulnerable in our community.

President Trump's birth control rule allows a woman's boss to determine her most basic and personal of health care decisions.

The national attacks on birth control baffle me, and I hope you will take action to pass the ACCESS bill in the Massachusetts Senate. Please prioritize this legislation and vote YES on Contraceptive ACCESS.

Thank you,
