Thank your State Senator for Passing the Contraceptive ACCESS bill

On November 14th, the Massachusetts Senate overwhelmingly passed the Contraceptive ACCESS bill, a critical piece of legislation that will ensure 1.4 million Massachusetts women continue to have access to no copay birth control, regardless of President Trump’s latest attack on birth control coverage.

Take a moment to thank your state senator and share why you appreciate their leadership on protecting affordable birth control access.

Thank you for voting in support of Contraceptive ACCESS

Dear  [Decision Maker],

I am writing to you today to thank you for the recent Senate passage of An Act Relative to Advancing Contraceptive Coverage and Economic Security in Our State (S. 499).

The ACCESS bill ensures access to no copay birth control for 1.4 million Massachusetts women. As you know, swift passage of this legislation is critical, especially since the Trump Administration drastically undermined birth control coverage last month.

Birth control coverage affects all of us. Contraception is basic, preventive health care that everyone should be able to access, regardless of their economic status. Almost all women, 99% in fact, have used birth control at some point in their lives. Prohibitively expensive copays and out-of-pocket expenses can make it impossible for an individual to protect their health and plan their family.

President Trump's birth control rule allows a woman's boss to determine her most basic and personal of health care decisions.

The national attacks on birth control baffle me, and it is comforting to know you are taking action to pass ACCESS.

As the 2017-2018 legislative session continues, I hope you will continue to lead by passing bills that reduce health disparities and improve the sexual and reproductive health of your constituents.

Thank you,
