Thank your state representative for passing the PATCH bill

patch house victory

On February 28, 2018, the Massachusetts House of Representatives passed the PATCH bill, which closes a privacy loophole and protects patient confidentiality. Without this bill, many young adults, spouses, and teens forgo the care they need because they fear their privacy will be inadvertently compromised.

Tell your state representative why the PATCH bill matters to you and thank them for passing the legislation.

Thank you for passing the PATCH bill

Dear [Decision Maker],

I am grateful to the Massachusetts House of Representatives for passing An Act to Protect Access to Confidential Health Care (H. 4256), or the PATCH bill. By closing this loophole in health care confidentiality, you make it safer for Massachusetts residents to access the care they need.

Today, Massachusetts has an important opportunity to take the lead on health care policy and I'm proud to see the Massachusetts Legislature stepping up to the plate. Now is the time to dismantle these harmful barriers to care and close health disparities that have persisted for too long. From protecting no copay birth control, closing loopholes in health care confidentiality, and hopefully improving access to comprehensive sex education, I am optimistic about the direction our state is heading in.

Thank you,
