Victory for women: birth control with no co-pays

Victory! The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has ruled that birth control is basic preventive health care and should be made available to millions of women in the United States without a co-pay. This ruling is a giant leap forward for women’s health. For the next 60 days, HHS is accepting public comments on its decision. They are also accepting comments on proposals to exempt certain religious employers, which could lead to some women losing access to this vital protection.

Personalize the note below to tell HHS that you wholeheartedly support birth control with no co-pays and that all women, regardless of their employer or insurer, should have access to affordable birth control if they want or need it. Then spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers, and everyone you know who cares about women's health. We will collect your comments and deliver them to HHS to be made a part of the official public record.

I support Birth Control with no co-pays for all women

Dear [Decision Maker],

I applaud the decision to make birth control available to millions of women with no co-pays under the Affordable Care Act. All women, regardless of their employer or insurer, should have access to birth control if they want or need it. As the Institute of Medicine acknowledged, birth control is basic preventive health care that should be available to women without co-pays or other out-of-pocket costs.

I wholeheartedly support access to birth control without co-pays for all women regardless of their employer or insurer.

Sincerely,
